The 2025 South African Internet Governance Forum (ZAIGF), held recently in Durban, was not merely another industry gathering but a pivotal national reflection. One message rang loud and clear across every plenary: South Africa’s digital future must be shaped by the values that define us as a nation: dignity, inclusion, sovereignty, and Ubuntu. 

The Internet is no longer a luxury; it has become the new public square, classroom, clinic, and job centre. Yet, despite significant strides, digital access remains unequal across South Africa.
